18 Days left

Just 18 days to go before the mid-term elections on November 2nd, and the political debates are heating up all over the country.  This week, Delaware Senate Candidates Christine O'Donnell and Chris Coons squared off in a televised debate.  The debate has been very much talked about over the last several days as both candidates get in as much as they can to the citizens of Delaware before election day.

In economic news, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke addressed reporters in Boston today to discuss the future actions to stimulate the economy.  Bernanke stated that the economy is better than before, but "less vigorous that we would like."  This announcement came as the Fed is expected to continue buying U.S. Treasury Bonds to stimulate further growth.

As the unemployment rate continues to hover around 10%, jobs continue to be a key issue for the upcoming election.  Democrats continue to run on issues other than ObamaCare, cap and trade, and the stimulus bill signed by President Obama last year.

Check back later for further details on the election and all economic news.

First blog post

So this is my first blog post.  Let me just describe a little bit about myself.  My name is Sardar Hedayati, and you might be wondering where I got that name.  My parents are originally from Iran, and came to the United States in the mid 1980s.  I have lived in Maryland all of my life, and that is where I currently go to college.  I am a freshman at Frostburg State University, but I only plan on staying there for one year and then transfer to University of Maryland, because that is where I originally wanted to go to.  I am currently deciding on majoring in either economics or political science, because those are my two favorite subjects.  As you can probably tell from my majors interest, I enjoy watching, reading, and writing about business and politics.  I hope that as many people in the U.S. and through out the world will read my blog.  I will be talking about everything business and politics, from the current condition of the economy to the upcoming November mid-term elections, which I am definitely looking forward to.  So I will stop talking now, and look for more posts in the future.
