Political Update

So after the Republicans took control of the House of Representatives and decreased their minority in the Senate, Democrats such as soon to be former Speaker Nancy Pelosi just can't seem to get enough of the limelight.  It was reported this week that Pelosi will run for the minority spot as John Boehner (R. Ohio) will soon take the leadership position.  This announcement came as Democrats, according to President Barack Obama, took a "shellacking" last week.  States such as Illnois, Indiana, Alabama, and even Florida all turned Republicans as the average American is not only fed up with the job Washington is doing, but also showed a rejection of President Obama's policies.  The first objective of the new Republican congress, according to John Boehner, is to repeal ObamaCare.  This will indeed be a tough task since the U.S. Senate is still in Democratic majority and it will be unlikely Obama will agree to something like this.

The next post will be an update on the Bush tax cuts and a review of George W. Bush's new memoir "Decision Points."
